Brockville Ribfest is a free-fun-filled- family-food festival which has been held for the past 11years in beautiful Hardy Park in downtown Brockville. The park is on the shores of the St. Lawrence River and this venue provides wonderful ambiance for our event. The strength of our festival is that we do not charge admission and offer lots of free entertainment.
Brockville Ribfest features 4 days of live entertainment including main stage concerts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, as well as Sunday afternoon. There is live musical entertainment in the afternoon from noon until the main stage concert starts. We have a Kids Zone, including free Helium Balloons, face painting, games and crafts, chalk artist, free pony rides and a petting zoo. We have a rock climbing wall, bounce houses and Thunderdome racing as well as a kids fishing derby on Saturday morning. On Saturday we have an all day beach volleyball tournament and Poker Run makes a stop at the festival on Saturday afternoon. There is also an arm wrestling tournament Saturday afternoon. Thousands of people crowd the waterfront to see the cigarette boats during the Poker Run. An American tall ship is touring the area during our event, and stopping at the event for the day on Friday and offer free tours. On Sunday go for a tour on a free water taxis to Refugee Island off the Brockville waterfront for a desert and beverage on the island.
We have a rib eating contest and rib judging and an extensive vendor village. There is a large variety of food available from vendors including, ribs, pulled pork, hot dogs, chicken, ice cream, smoothies, crepes, blooming onions, butterfly fries, funnel cakes, baked goods and corn on the cob. There is also a beer garden. Taste some mouth watering ribs and chicken from any of the following 8 Ribbers are who compete for the People’s Choice award: Gator BBQ, Billy Bones, Silver Bullet, Camp 31, Jack The Ribber, Crabby’s BBQ, Kentucky Smokehouse, Ribs Royale.
We provide dining tents and our festival is accessible. Our attendees can shop, listen to music, play games and enjoy great food. They relax in our beer garden that overlooks the Brockville harbour and enjoy a beer or glass of wine and listen to great live music while they watch the boats come and go.
Brockville Ribfest is a Brockville summer signature events attracting 55,000 visitors and the Winner of Brockville and District Community Tourism Award. It is hosted by Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Leeds and Grenville. All proceeds from the event go directly to help fund the high quality mentoring programs we provide to the children and youth in Leeds and Grenville.
